Description

The Elan 400 is an 11.95 metre sailing yacht from Rob Humphreys' Performance line with a wide stern and pronounced chines as a defining feature of the design. Propulsion is by sail and is supported by an inboard with saildrive as an auxiliary engine for harbour manoeuvres. The twin rudder system and the performance-orientated keel are characteristic features that enable controlled manoeuvrability even when heeling heavily. The cockpit is open and designed for sporty sailing with a small crew. Below deck, the Elan 400 has an innovative interior with a reversible L-shaped sofa and folding navigation table to create more freedom of movement in the saloon. The yacht was mainly built as a 3-cabin version with a forward berth and two aft cabins. Compared to the Elan 380, the Elan 400 has a more modern construction and is consistently designed for performance and space optimisation. The Elan 400 is therefore aimed at sporty cruising sailors with a regatta focus.
