Description
The Excess 14 is a 16.46 metre long catamaran with an open cockpit and two helm stations positioned aft on the outside of the hulls. The design comes from VPLP and is designed for balanced sailing characteristics and reduced weight. It is characterised by the continuous connection between the cockpit and saloon on the bridge deck, where the galley is also integrated. The cabins and bathrooms are located in the hulls. Large windows in the superstructure provide plenty of light in the saloon. Characteristic features include the clear deck layout, wide walkways, flexible cabin configurations and the combination of direct steering and generous space. Compared to the Excess 12, the Excess 14 offers more length, more volume and more comfort areas, but remains true to the concept with external helm stations and active sail management. The Excess 14 is aimed at crews looking for a catamaran for longer journeys and a high level of space on board.
