Description
The Hallberg-Rassy 49 is a 14.96 metre ocean-going yacht from the shipyard's Enderlein era. Typical is a moderate long keel with S-span character, which supports calm sea behaviour and course stability. Many examples were delivered as ketch with main mast and mizzen mast, allowing flexible sail management on long voyages. The deck layout follows the traditional concept with a protected cockpit and the construction is made of solid GRP. Below deck, the Hallberg-Rassy 49 offers storage space, wide passageways and a structured saloon for longer stays on board. Compared to the later Hallberg-Rassy 48, the Hallberg-Rassy 49 has a more conservative design and is more focussed on seaworthiness than modern performance. As the predecessor of the Hallberg-Rassy 53, the Hallberg-Rassy 49 is part of the shipyard's range of large bluewater models and is aimed at sailors planning long-distance and ocean passages.
