Description
The Hanse 540e is a 16.08 metre long and 4.91 metre wide ocean-going sailing yacht from HanseYachts AG based on a design by Judel/Vrolijk. The "e" stands for production by vacuum infusion with epoxy resin; the hull and deck were manufactured using this process. Typical features are the twin steering wheels, the fractional rig and a deck layout with aft-facing halyards and reefing lines for operation with a small crew. The Hanse 540e has a transverse dinghy garage in the stern area. The interior is characterised by large hull windows and several layout options with separate cabins and heads compartments. Other features include the wide cockpit, clear walkways on deck and the accessibility of technical systems. Compared to the later Hanse 575, the Hanse 540e is narrower and shorter, offers less volume, but follows the same concept of performance cruiser and easy sailing.
