The color is fine, there is no falsification in the red / green area. The brightness is excellent. A minimal change in the angle is only detectable under laboratory conditions. Bothers any deputy officials who are bored. The current is 190 mA. Spraying with colorless paint is recommended to prevent electrolysis due to moisture. For salt mist use probably less suitable in the present protection, depending on the lantern construction. Inland without restriction. For the steamer light no problem is seen. But it is pretty bright then.

No glass bulb
LED bulbs contain a lot of electronics for internal current regulation and the individual LEDs are soldered onto a circuit board. As long as a glass bulb, a casting compound or at least a thick layer of paint protects these areas, no condensation or even salt mist can lead to corrosion. However, many ship lamps are anything but waterproof. Despite the expected long lifespan, premature failure is unfortunately to be expected and therefore not full marks. I have installed the bulbs and am happy about the reduced power consumption. I am curious to see how long they will last.

This type of LED bulbs are very expensive, but I think only is a middle quality for this price. I'm sure the electrical working power consumption is much lower than a traditional bulb (about 110) this is good! I will see the life times and how is work later.

Technical question

Hi! Does this LED create RF-interference when fitted to masthead tricolour next to VHF-antenna? Lalizas BAY15D LED creates so much interference that it makes all but the nearest AIS-transmitters to disappear and I'm searching for a solution.

I have it in my anchor licht right next to my VHF antenna. I have no audible noise anywhere and my AIS receives the same vessels whether it's on or not - ca. 15nm for AIS B and 50+nm for AIS A.

Hi. Unfortunately this LED does the same than Lalizas's: when put on, AIS-target range shortens. With this LED on, only few miles, when off, up to 60 nautical miles.
