You have to install several lamps one after the other, so routine helps. The lamp is not designed to be customer-friendly, and the same goes for the previous model, which has now been replaced. I tried in vain to replace the switches on that one, but it was not possible. The reason is the extremely tight dimensions, which are a real pain in the butt even with the new lamp. The supply cable from the ceiling has a special cable lug that is also welded. However, the two cables on the new lamp are extremely long and do not have the right cable plug. So you have to shorten the cable and strip the wire. If the right plug were included, the manufacturer would have thought ahead and the product would perhaps be 1 cent more expensive... Since they are offering a replacement for an original Bavaria part, which is also very expensive, you would expect something like that. But they are making it easy for themselves and leaving the problem to the customer. If the skipper then comes up with the idea of connecting the lamp wires upwards with extra-flat folding plugs, he will find that the lamp housing is so minimalistic that nothing else fits into the housing except the wire and the cable lug, and the housing cannot be pushed up flush with the springs. As with Monopoli, everything then goes back to the beginning and the assembly starts again. Only when the skipper connects the wires with the cable lug and the appropriate plug, which he has to get hold of, can the lamp be properly installed. This works quite well from the 3rd lamp onwards.

The manufacturer has designed the lamp to operate with 10 watt halogen bulbs. The use of a more powerful filament bulb is not permitted due to the higher thermal load of the lamp. We recommend the use of the LED lamp 19258. The following LED illuminants are also suitable, listed with decreasing brightness: 12394, 17457, 24114, 20930.

The visible diameter is 40mm although its held in with a plastic surround that I've not removed. So it will be at least a couple of mm wider.
