Fast, reliable and mercilessly cheap When I bought the Garmin GPSMAP 922 a year ago, I had no idea what it would mean for my sailing. After I had run onto the sand in front of the harbor entrance in front of Laboe because I was tired (SAR dragged me out), I got to grips with the MNEA 2000 intensively. Now, after almost 50 years, my Jeanneau Sangria has got a depth gauge, wind and weather indicator, radar and AIS. And the whole thing is controlled and displayed by one device. The technical installations and connections are largely self-explanatory and can even be quickly understood and, above all, implemented by a layman. Garmin devices are robust and of high quality. The next goal is a tiller control regulated by the Garmin. Hi-Tec on an old ship..... That's no contradiction!
