This device has to be programmed with your personal data, such as: MMSI and/or ATIS numbers.
It is possible to program the MMSI and ATIS number yourself. The relevant instructions can be found in the manual.
Alternatively, we can programme the device for you. For this we charge a programming fee.
If you would like us to programme the device, please let us know as you are making your order. Please add the above-mentioned programming accordingly and complete the form in full.
If additional channels (e.g. the Dutch channels) are to be activated, we charge our programming fee. The fee is only charged once per device.
The application for the allocation of the MMSI and ATIS number can be found in our Service/Downloads section.

The CORTEX V1 VHF marine radio features an AIS-SOTDMA Class B transponder and innovative handset. With various features, including a screen for displaying AIS data and vessel instruments, managing and monitoring alarms and configuring remote vessel monitoring. The large, 4" touchscreen was engineered to withstand the rigours of the harsh marine environment and can be used with gloves and when wet. Furthermore, it is possible to connect additional devices (e.g. a secondary radio) via the NMEA2000 network. A 10 Hz GPS antenna precisely and reliably determines the current position of your vessel.
Note: Before you can programme in the MMSI and possibly the ATIS identifier, the device requires a complete GPS fix, otherwise the entry is blocked for input. An error message appears:
... "MMSI and ATIS....must be programmed by an Authorised Garmin Representive"...
SOTDMA technology
The radio features the latest AIS technology and has an output power of 5W. SOTDMA technology gives you greater range and transmits your position more frequently than classic AIS technologies.
Including control panel
The H1 handset, which is included in the delivery contents has a large 4" touchscreen display. It was specially developed to withstand the rigours of the harsh marine environment and can be used with gloves and when wet, and innovative buttons make operation child's play. On top of numerous shortcut keys, for example for Channel 16 or DSC call, single hand operation is also possible using the click wheel and dedicated buttons. When an AIS MOB situation is detected, the system immediately sounds the alarm. You can track where the signal was first activated and how the location changes. Anchor monitoring
By combining position and heading, Cortex V1 checks that the boat is still exactly where it was anchored. If your anchor drags and your boat moves outside your anchor swing radius an alarm will also sound on all connected devices.
