The best gagdet money could buy Not being the first time I have a Garmin Inreach, I bought this one after the previous one was stolen and I am extremely satisfied because it is really very small allowing to have it in a pocket and at the same time, with the access via Bluetooth we can have all the features on the phone. I consider it much more important than a MOB because while these have a 24 mile range, the Garmin is a personal Epirb with satellite connection. Just press the SOS button and a message is sent with our location. The SMS service is fantastic for communications with land that we can use for weather routing or just to let you know that everything is ok on board. A must have for anyone who is at sea.

Excellent features and acceptable price I use the Garmin inReach Mini 2 for sea weather reports, track sharing and messaging. The emergency call function and the option of being able to talk to a doctor if the worst comes to the worst gives me more security.

Crossed the Pacific from Tahiti to Panama with it It was turned on non-stop for 30 days. Constant tracking and 20-30 daily messages to land contacts. It clearly needs a view of the sky, so you need to bring the inreach into the cockpit. But with the bluetooth you can be downstairs on the phone texting. We bought it as a back up to the iridium Go and ended up using the Inreach more because it is faster and easier to use.

Everything great! Everything was great, but it took us some time and a few tries for the initial setup and correct pairing with the iPhone. That's to be expected, though. In the end, everything worked perfectly and easily. I would definitely buy it all again!

With the compact inReach Mini 2 GPS satellite communicator you can send and receive messages worldwide. Instead of a mobile phone network, the device transfers messages via the Iridium satellite network and, in case of an emergency, triggers an interactive SOS message to the IERCC international rescue centre, which is manned 24/7.
The communication device also has a digital compass and TrackBack routing for accurate heading information so that you don't lose track of where you are. With a battery life of 14 days and a weight of just 100 g, the inReach Mini 2 is perfect for longer trips or cruises. It can also be connected to the Garmin Explore app.
