Automatic life jackets should be regularly serviced. This is to ensure they function correctly when needed. Regular servicing in compliance with the maintenance interval prescribed by the manufacturer is particularly important for self-inflating life jackets. Servicing ensures the reliable function of your life jacket for the next 2 years. If no interval is specified by the manufacturer, we recommend servicing 2 years after purchase for a life jacket with average use. Even if the jackets are "only" worn and not triggered, they are still exposed to heat, sun and salt, which means they can be easily subject to damage. SVB offers certified maintenance service by qualified personnel. Please note, SVB only services life jackets that are no more than 10 years old. Please do not send us older life jackets for service.

Test of the automatic trigger via water (manual)
Mouth valve inspection
Density test of the inflated buoyancy chamber according to the manufacturer's specifications
Replacing with new seals
CO² cartridge check
General inspection - especially of the belt system

Servicing - step by step

Step 1:
The life jacket is unpacked & the CO² cartridge removed

Step 2:
Automatic trigger is removed & the seal replaced

As in the past, all of our lifejackets have been thoroughly inspected and where necessary done. The service was also kindly taken over for vests that did not come from SVG. One star deducted because the maintenance took six weeks - so don't wait until spring, but rather have it done right at the end of the season in autumn.

Preliminary information could be better but afterwards very good

My automatic vest was "overdue". I found it very good that I could order maintenance online from SVB.
So put a few items in the shopping cart, ordered and supposedly "done".
I didn't realize that my order (including that of the other items) would only be processed when the vest arrived at SVB, so after a few days I called them and was told that I had to send the vest in first.
I would have liked something like that as a note for the order confirmation, which came automatically.

Once this hurdle was cleared, things went well and quickly with the usual SVB quality.
