Product details
Effective protection - this stainless-steel rope-cutter cuts rigging, wire up to 5 mm thick, plastic bags and other similar items. Easy assembly on almost any type of shafting. Strength (thickness) of all rigging cutters 18 mm. Outer-diameter: 79 mm. Material: V4A stainless steel.
Note: the propeller must be removed for assembly. Rope-cutters are fixed to the shaft with 3 setscrews.
Assembly tips:
- Remove the propeller from the shaft.
- Clean the shaft.
- Slide the rope-cutter on the shaft. Pay attention to its alignment! For proper assembly, place the ring with the setscrews on the propeller-side and the knife facing the shaft bearing.
- Position the rope-cutter at least 5 mm from the stem-ring, whereby the pressure of the engine has to be considered.
- Mark the places on the shaft, on which the setscrews should sit.
- Screw in the setscrews. Apply some thread-adhesive on the screws beforehand and then tighten them evenly.
- Reassemble the propeller.

Is there a way to use the cutter on 45mm shaft ( Putting some 5mm ring on shaft .. ) ? The biggest diameter I can see here is 40mm Thank you

No this is specifically for a shaft it fits between the propeller and the cutlass bearing. I do not think you will have enough room with a sail drive to fit it.
