Reassemble a deck panel that meets the expected need and is easy to implement
I used this seal to solve a problem with a persistent leak on a Gebo deck hatch.
Not knowing how it was originally installed (a Feeling 32 boat), and discovering that the manufacturer recommended this type of seal for installation, I purchased it before disassembling it, along with a primer in case I used glue.
It turned out that the porthole was glued, which made disassembly tedious. Unsure about the reassembly technique, I opted for an initial installation with this seal, thinking it would be easy to remove in the event of a leak. The initial leak tests were conclusive; I'll wait and see what happens next.
The 2.5 cm seal allows it to properly follow the curve of the rounded porthole frame and extends beyond the frame to fill the gap between the polyester roof and the frame by compressing it. It is coated with a layer of repositionable glue which allows it to be placed in the best possible position.
