Actually a super compact snap shackle, I bought several. With two of them, the locking pin does not slide through completely by itself, which can be fatal. For me it meant that my daughter had pulled the spine halyard up into the mast because the lock had popped open. I hope that grinds in and then fluff better. Poor quality carabiner.

The carabiner mounted on the 10mm Glinstein spliced halyard opened when the jib was raised. I realized that the spring lacked the strength to close this one. So I secured it with a Rilsan clamp, but that wasn't enough, the Rilsan exploded when the carabiner was accidentally opened and the halyard flew off, so I replaced the carabiner with a shackle.
