Why is SVB changing its product

I actually wanted a different hose. I replaced all hoses 4 years ago, black with orange plastic spiral on the outside. Easy to lay and cut. No smell. Now I had to change a ball valve and couldn't get the same hose. The vetus is more expensive, but the feel is worse.
