I installed the DC / DC converter with 50 W a few days ago. We live on board in the Mediterranean and need at least in winter shore power with a charging power over 14 V. Because over time, most of the LED bulbs slowly but surely failed me, I wanted to try 'once with this device. Negative: There was no description of the device. Because this manual was missing, I wired as follows (plastic boat, no guarantee) PLUS input: here 12 volt input MINUS input: have somewhere minus taken and in addition to the MINUS output bridged PLUS output: to a collective base, from there to the individual fuses of the lights earth: not considered positive: everything is running, input charging current of land 14.3 V, output as promised 12 V. Purchase error, I thought I could regulate the 12 volts (14 in charge) to feed my TV set for 12 volts but this regulator is not powerful enough (14 watts) despite the description (provided for Leds and your electronic equipment) on the other hand, there is no mention of the small potentiometer to adjust the output voltage. A modification of the description is desirable ... Otherwise fast ordering and careful packaging.

I've just measured it. No-load current consumption of 90mA. And under load, an efficiency of about 0.6-0.7, ie a part of the power savings by the LEDs is thereby canceled. I build a switch in my energy-optimized Wharram Kat: "lamp life" position runs over the LED feeder, "Economy" switch off this and the lamps then directly on battery voltage. Otherwise, I can not say much about it, I would be interested in data on the actual shortening of the life of LEDs under field conditions.

The quality is more than doubtful ... So honestly: I often buy at SVB but I rarely got such a "scrap" ... Note! SVB: The voltage transformers are manufactured in perfect industrial quality. Certainly the device is not designed for outdoor use, but is usually installed in the control panel or e-distribution.
