Epifanes satin varnish
Used on light oak kitchen doors. Very covering, easy to work with so good preparation, the varnish stretches well by itself. Relatively fast drying. Hold and resistance to soiling to be seen of course over time but it smells of a quality product. A little lack of shine in the satin for my taste (a little too matt).

The remaining content of the can hardens even if the can is tightly closed. Through the atmospheric oxygen. As a result, residues can no longer be used, which makes the price appear very high overall.

ich verwende Epifanes Hartholzöl seit mehr als 10 Jahren mit guten Resultaten. Der UV Schutz ist noch verbesserungsfähig

Very liquid
This varnish is very runny and doesn't really form a thick film, even after six coats. It's difficult to apply with a brush without leaving streaks. I think it's much less protective than the "classic" Epifanes Clear Vanish. It might be useful for the first few coats because it soaks into the wood well and dries quickly.

Now is it a paint or an oil? I had hoped that the Epifanes product would have the advantage that on our teak surfaces, such as a large garden table and the cockpit doors on the boat, paint would not flake off immediately after exposure to UV light and repairs could be carried out better. The future will show whether the hardwood varnish oil will last. Basically, the processing was okay, but the temperatures were not optimal at less than ten degrees. Even after the fourth coat, the table does not have a really consistent gloss finish, the doors are processed externally by the carpenter with the product in a workshop, so that you will only see how the hardwood lacquer oil ultimately works under optimal conditions.
