The supplied parts (shunt and black battery cable) are absolutely useless for attachment to the usual battery poles. You have to buy additional battery terminals and adapters. Because the black cable is too short, the shunt can not be securely attached, but it is a tricky solution.

Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Anbietern liefert NASA einen 5 m Kabelbaum (incl. fliegender Sicherung) und ein 18 cm langes, mit Kabelschuhen versehenes Kabel zur Verbindung von Shunt und Batterie-MINUS.

Da NASA-Produkte weltweit gehandelt werden, hat der Hersteller selbstverständlich auch ein Auge auf internationale Vorschriften.
So gibt es z.B. eine ABYC-Regel, welche für spezielle Installationen die Abstände zur Batterie definiert:
Bei Leitungsverbindungen ohne zusätzlichen mechanische/n Isolation/Schutz ist ein maximaler Abstand von 7\" vorgegeben - das entspricht 18 cm.
Der Kabelquerschnitt ist entsprechend der Shunt-Belastbarkeit (100 A) sowie der Leitungslänge bemessen.
