Poor quality

I had to purchase this unit to replace a 5 year old unit that failed. I was not impressed and would have purchased a different manufacturer but then would require a haul out and modification to my boat hull to mount a different transducer.
I will never purchase Raymarine products again.

Any repair costs would exceed the new value of the instrument. The i40 instrument series is very popular with many owners due to its size and reliability. We regret that you have not had this experience. However, there is no reason to speak ill of the product in general.

Poor reliability.

This depth failed after 5 years. There is no possibility to self test whether it is the transducer or head unit that has failed, leaving the only option to either haul out and modify the boat to accept a different make of thru hull or replace with another i40.
Raymarine equipment should last for more than 5 years without failure.

If you are electronically savvy, you can narrow down the troubleshooting with the appropriate measuring devices. If this is not the case, it is best to contact a service dealer in your region. In general, the i40 series has been working very reliably for many years.
