The product is rather reliable but the sounder seems moderately accurate (I recommend to order the pass-shell made on purpose, sold separately, to be able to remove the probe when you want it to remove algae, shells, which will disturb the measurement) . the product looks very well but but both wires , echosounder and log, are 1 meter too short. How can I make them longer ?

I ordered many products from SVB and on April 18th I bought a Clipper Duet. The transducer was defective. I returned it. Customer service wanted me to return the whole thing even though the rest of the product was installed. There were damaged parts on the transducer, it was obvious that the product needed replacing. This has been going on since April. I'll let you judge the efficiency of this company when you have to go to sea....

The device worked properly for a few months. It then gradually broke down on the sounder function until it permanently indicated "OUT"
I had fitted it with two thru-hull fittings, the assembly and disassembly involved removing the boat with the corresponding costs. After cleaning the probe, it still did not work.
I returned it under warranty. After several months, the device was returned and replaced, it still did not work on the sounder function and then broke down on the log function!
Reading the specialized forums showed me that this problem was common, one of the correspondents even gave a method of modifying the motherboard with a soldering iron...
The refund was then offered to me by SVB customer service who was very responsive throughout this procedure, which was not the case for the manufacturer!.

We decided to buy the NASA Clipper because it had good ratings and was relatively cheap. But after 2 weeks of daily use the display broke and did not turn on again. This is really bad, because now we have two holes in the boat below the waterline and one in the cockpit to fit exactly to the NASA Clipper. As we are on a long sailing trip we need to rely on the instrument every day especially for anchoring. This is really a safety relevant feature for us. We wrote the customer support of SVB to send us a replacement but didnt get an answer since. So we went on a long search for a replacement display in Croatia, which was a lot of effort. Only the display costs 200 €! Until now I was very happy with the support of SVB. But if they cant help in a situation like this I cant recommend SVB nor the NASA instruments.

I installed this handset on my sangria and I 'm able to say only one thing, avoid it at all costs. The electricity arrives well until the dial but it does not turn on anymore. In addition, I discovered that the plugs for coaxial cables were rusted ..... great for nautical equipment. In short to avoid absolutely, my advice pay twice the price for suitable equipment knowing the time we take for installation. Very disappointed. NASA for me it's over!

Hello I am relatively disappointed because I think this article is not new, the display dial is scratched and the probe is not in a shell pass. If I had known, I would have looked for a separate speedo and sounder.
