I'd long considered whether a boom would be beneficial on a Bavaria 31. I'm currently sailing in Croatia, and it's been a real joy. The genoa now opens up fully, which provides 2 knots more propulsion in butterfly mode or with the genoa alone. The boom is great to handle, robust, and perfectly adjustable thanks to the extendable mechanism. I highly recommend it.

Up to wind force 3-4 Bft, this 40mm telescopic boom will stay on a downwind course because the small tri then runs approximately as fast as the wind and therefore exerts little pressure on the telescopic boom
The locking points are easy to find because they are indicated by drill holes directly in front of the actual drill holes.
But generally wouldn't push it out on the very last hole.
