Ordered to protect the halyards on my PAIARDI R18S. Even though they're plastic, I managed to secure them perfectly to the mast, and they work great. The advantage of plastic is that it prevents oxidation and galvanic-chemical reactions from contact with steel and aluminum, and it's easy to replace if worn.
