A different league compared to the CAV filter

Finally, no more struggling with the maintenance of the old CAV filter system. On our Bavaria 37 (2000), the 8mm hose nipple fit perfectly into the diesel lines. Together with the compression fitting, installation was straightforward. To fill (bleed) the system, I used a syringe with a 5mm diesel hose from the diesel heater clamped to the end. I drew in clean diesel and then introduced it through the vent. Finally, I used the engine's hand pump to push out any remaining air, and that was it.

I've now driven about 40 hours with the filter. Because the keel tank in my boat is difficult to clean, a good pre-filter that not only removes water but also dirt was important to me.
