Solid, versatile mast steps

These plastic mast steps from the Netherlands have already been mounted to the mast using Monel rivets. Thanks to their fiberglass-reinforced construction, the steps can be perfectly adapted to the mast shape. (Attach sandpaper to the mast and sand the base of the steps against it until the desired shape is achieved.)

We only use two of these steps at the top of the mast as a standing platform for extended work. With a 150 kg SWL (severe working load), they should be sufficiently stable.

The steps have a minimal aerodynamic profile, and the folding mechanism is so tight that there is no rattling.

How UV-resistant the steps are remains to be seen.

So far, the product makes a high-quality impression.

13m tree, I used 26 steps. The procedure first involves gluing the tread (3M 5200) and, the next day, riveting (three aluminum rivets per tread). Two steps a day, obviously starting from the bottom.
