I'm very satisfied with SilicOne, which is a shame because it needs to be reapplied annually. There is a refresher course available, but it costs just as much as a new coat.

It's quite involved and expensive to do a complete rebuild including 5 coats of Hempel High Protect II, but the first 80nm trip was a real experience. My boat has never been so fast, even though I didn't even reach the reefing point!

I had already applied Silic One to the saildrive two years ago and was very happy with it regarding fouling – practically nothing, or it could be easily removed with a sponge. That's why I did the whole boat this time.

The quantity calculation based on square meters didn't work for me. While I had 15% too much Hempel High Protect, the Primer Light and the Tie Coat were a good match in terms of calculation. But the Silic One calculation based on square meters yielded 15% too little, so I had to buy more locally.

Another disadvantage is the issue of durability. If you use the material relatively quickly, everything is fine. However, if you buy it in the spring to use it the following spring, you should bear in mind that a maximum storage period of 18 months is not much if the material is already 6 months old or more upon delivery.

Every spring, we roll a can over the entire underwater hull (Maxi Mixer, 35 feet) to freshen up and cover small scratches from the crane straps.

Last season, we also treated the saildrive and propeller with the system. It held well on the saildrive. Unfortunately, some of the epoxy primer came off the propeller. We'll try it again this season.

waiting to see the result at the end of the season, I can say that the product seems excellent, the use was simple respecting the expectations between one coat and the other, the result seems excellent.

It's silicone rubber, and that's what the coating feels like. Anti-slip mats are unnecessary. A very strong, intense blue. The coating is ready-to-apply and easy to work with. The painting interval after priming is relatively relaxed. The calculation tool suggests realistic quantities.

A little difficult to pass for it to be truly valid, you need to wait a little before it is definitive, pay particular attention under the saddles (do not rest until it is really dry) there is a risk that when hauling it it remains attached to the saddles and detaches from the boat

I have been using the SILIC One game since 2017 and I recommend it to anyone.
I haven't redone my submarine since that time (a few touch-ups), which is why I painted my aluminum Flaps this year (2024).
I have no doubt about the result.

The amount of work in March this year was enormous. We have a 44-year-old Janneau 28 on Lake Chiemsee and have decided to completely rebuild the underwater hull. Removed the old antifouling with the scraper blade, sanded, filled epoxy, sanded, applied 5x Hempels Light Primer, then 1x Silic one Tiecoat and then 2x Silic one. Between the penultimate light primer coat and the subsequent coats, the max and min times must be observed depending on the temperature. In March, this can only be carried out in a heated hall. Time spent for two is two long weekends of 4 days each. Now to the conclusion The first aha effect came during the season. Our boat runs significantly faster. Especially with the typical light winds on Lake Chiemsee, we amazed many a performance boat. And now after the season and the crane out, the result is still sensational. A light cleaning of the underwater hull with the high-pressure cleaner and the paint looks like new. The time and money were worth it and we are finally setting an example when it comes to the environment.

The product is really good. There is nothing to complain about, only the delivery service is. Unfortunately, that's the case everywhere at the moment. It would be nice if the gentlemen were only paid when the service was rendered, then things would probably go differently.

Silicone paint for shaft, propeller and rudder protection

For the Z drive the only thing that really keeps it clean.

Contrary to the manufacturer's recommendation, despite winter storage, I do not paint a new layer after a few weeks of land storage and the protection against solid growth remains excellent. Use SilicOne on a GFK-15 dinghy cruiser on the Havel. After 1 week, a light algae coating forms on the underwater hull, which after a few hours of sailing only remains in the area of the waterline. However, this can easily be removed with a rag. At the end of the season, wipe it off with a wet wipe and you have a shiny underwater ship! In between the boat lay idle for a maximum of 7 weeks, the dark slime with a few algae simply falls off after a few meters of travel. In the past, there were often mussels in the untreated sword case, after I treated them with SilicOne in the underwater area as well. Has survived 200 km of trailers and 4 times cranes without damage. For possible repairs, small amounts can simply be drawn up from the freshly opened jar with a syringe, placed in a small, dry disposable glass and a few pearls of desiccant such as molecular sieve or silica gel added. Absolute recommendation for those who do not want to paint antifouling every winter, pay attention to good upholstery (cushions) when trailers and want to bring a little less copper into our waters.

First a praise to SVB, I called on Monday because I was missing a can of silicon one. I needed the product in Enkhuizen (NL) because the boat should be in the water on Friday. The DHL messenger was on site punctually on Thursday. Big cinema. We are very satisfied with silicon one. We first used it two years ago. After this time in the water, the hull was like new. We have rebuilt some places (Kiel) and painted them with a different color on the previous one. Red on blue so that in two years we can see exactly where we need to rework. I have a suggestion for improvement. The boat rests on stamps and must be painted in these places before entering the water. A whole can is way too much for that, a quarter of a can, for this use, it would be easy.

After two years of the first order, our conclusion - it works great! We have a Cruiser 40 in the IJsselmeer, brackish water. We had completely rebuilt the hull with four new layers of epoxy and tiecoat primer. Please note the processing time and maximum time intervals. After two years, with the high-pressure cleaning, at a distance !, the underwater hull was like new and freshly painted. There were so many astonished looks in the harbor. A thin streak has come off with the palm of your hand! Great thing! There were few small spots where the Silic One, smaller than a fingernail, came off. It is possible that too little primer was applied or the paint was too thin - unfortunately we don't know. After two years we have now applied a coat of paint with short pile rollers. You have to work quickly, preferably in pairs. For our 40s, including the keel and rudder blade, we got along with exactly 5 cans. B. when it goes into the water. We have chosen a different color in order to be able to recognize the layer application, we can only recommend that.

Used in the third year for a fast sports boat. This antifouling works really well. It forms a gel film in the water which washes off when driving through the water. Cleaning at the end of the season is child's play with a sponge! The renewal coat in spring too, just wash off the dust and apply a new coat. No grinding, no cleaning with solvents! Highly Recommended!

I tested the product despite the reluctance of everyone around me in May 2018. I just released the boat and I was pleasantly surprised to have nothing to do on the hull apart from a karcher and make two small touches! Possibility to wash the shell with a sponge from time to time, enjoying a swim. I recommend this product absolutely ...

After almost one and a half years in the water (Baltic Sea, North Sea, now Atlantic canals), the underwater area was almost without vegetation. Cleaning with the steam jet and a coat are enough again for 12 to 2 years. An antifouling that really convinces. And SVB is probably one of the few if not the only one that delivers easily to the Canaries. And that for (as I find) cheap € 20 for 7 cans of color. Even on Amazon.es it says for many products "delivery to the Canary Islands not possible". SVB has also deducted the 19% VAT (around € 50). The rate is only 7% in the Canary Islands, but the customs has not charged us (so far).
