Small and robust
The lamp is small and has a robust design. Due to its small size, there is no way to accommodate the cable connection to the power cable in or under the lamp itself.

Great part. Good workmanship, good (stromparendes) light. Very light, therefore hardly vibrations on the rod. Thank you says the wassersportcompany.de
It builds up little mass and doesn't tear down so quickly in the mast bearing.
The low profile isn't ideal on the mast, as the masthead might block the light for short distances. I've added an extra 10cm to the base.

flat cone of light
top light small sailing boat; The beam angle up and down seems to be very flat. I am unsure whether the light cone when heeling does not only shine on the water.
Otherwise, it seems well made and mature.

The Ankerladerne is perfectly processed and consumes very little power.

Botch, and the manufacturer sees it the same way
The lamp lights up. That's the good thing. That's why it gets two stars.
Now for one of the problems The upper sealed part has three nipples that snap into three recesses in the lower bracket. Like a bayonet lock. Or a jam jar. The three holding points are evenly spaced. So you can assemble the lamp correctly, rotated 120 or rotated 240. It all holds without any problems and, logically, lights up the same. I assembled the lamp rotated because there is no marking in the area where the upper and lower parts come together. Everything works wonderfully, except that the lamp never comes apart again. I had to break the lower bracket to get the upper lamp off. There is no other way to disassemble the lamp. Hella Marine should have simply made all three nipples the same or put a marking on them or arranged the nipples at different distances, but they missed all of that.
Finally, I wrote to both SVB and the manufacturer. I just need the bottom piece of plastic replaced. The reaction is: There are no spare parts. The manufacturer obviously considers its products to be so inferior that it is not worth repairing.

By the way, there is no strain relief in the pot for the incoming cable from the mast, like every DIY store nightstand light has. The construction is simply rubbish, and the manufacturer knows it.

Not convinced
Actually great product, but assembly is impossible. The cable is firmly welded. In this respect, you have to somehow attach it to the existing mast cable. I ended up soldering it and then using heat shrink tubing. The problem now comes with the assembly of the base with cable and then the light, so everything at once. Miserable fiddle.

It would be better to mount a base and then click the light onto it. That way you can swap out. But that is not possible with this product. A pity.
