It will be interesting to see if the new contact lasts better than the old one. The function was still fine on the old one, but the rubber for protection against water penetration was visibly defective.
I hope the rubber on that contact is more resistant to weather and wind on the new one and the new one therefore holds up to the maritime environment.
I hope the switch does not have to be changed regularly due to a bad rubber mixture or a bad choice of material.
Placed on the instrument console outside, the rubber is destroyed too quickly. And yet the wheelhouse is covered 80% of the time. This is the second change in 4 years!
