The last time I could have used such a miracle cure, it wasn't on board and the (other) glue I bought along the way didn't do what it promised. At least not when used from the inside. And the situation wasn't dramatic enough for diving, if it would have helped at all. In short, there will only be a complete assessment after the second sensor dies. ;-) Nevertheless, full marks as a leap of faith.

In my problem case, convincing effect as a "blood pressure reducer" ;-)

Minor leaks occurred at a plank joint near the waterline. The spot had to be repaired because the wood there did not - as is usually the case - seal itself by swelling after an appropriate waiting period (water pressure in the wooden ship: 180). "Of course" there was no crane available that weekend that could have been used to quickly lift the boat, dry the spot and carry out repairs from the inside. After applying a small amount of the soft, wax-like mass in accordance with the instructions, the problem was suddenly eliminated (blood pressure "normal" again). I can now let the waiting time for the next crane appointment go by with ease.

LEAL HERO - Rescuer in Need

After there was a leak on the old piece of hose to seal the stuffing box, I'm a real fan of this sealant. We followed the instructions on the packaging and also used gauze bandages to wrap and lubricate the Leak-Hero around the half-submerged stuffing box. The success was outstanding! We refrained from declaring an "emergency" (Friday, late afternoon) and only had the crane on Monday. We are sure that the LEAK HERO would have served longer.

I hope, of course, that I will never be embarrassed about having to use this tool. So I can't judge the quality from my own experience. However, the video is very convincing (from "Yacht-TV", worth seeing and probably believable), so it is not a mistake to have something like this on board on a small yacht that is more likely to be near the coast. Leak stoppers are only suitable for round holes (e.g. broken sea valves). Even these are apparently temporarily sealed. The shelf life is given as about 5 years - not bad. The remedy is not cheap.
