In general, it is commendable that there are repair kits. This helped me to get the pump back to optimal performance within 20 minutes. You should have the exploded view to hand so that you don't accidentally mount the diaphragm the wrong way round.

Spare part/seal kit for Whale foot pump.

First of all, thank you for the super fast delivery. Unfortunately, Whale seems to have modified this seal kit and pump over the years. With this set, the two pump membranes have no holes to screw them to the pump. I also don't know whether you can still get a corresponding spare parts set. This only fits the current MK3 pumps from Whale.

Pump runs well! Please state when ordering whether you want the left or right-handed pump! on the pump that was delivered to me, the connections were at the front instead of hitting (as shown). Unfortunately SVB does not offer this option. In the future I would only order the thing by phone so that the right pump would come out :). Note SVB: The connections can be adjusted to the desired position by loosening the housing screws. Don't forget to tighten the screws again :).

10 Jahre sind jetzt drei von diesen phantastischen Pumpen bei uns an Bord - und wir leben permanent auf dem Schiff, dementsprechend häufig werden sie benutzt. Wir haben kein Druckwassersystem, die drei Pumpen fördern Frischwasser in Pantry und Bad und Seewasser in der Pantry. Einzige Schwachstelle ist die Verschraubung direkt neben der Pedalachse. Wenn man die selbstschneidenden Schrauben dort erstmal durch Gewindeschrauben mit Muttern ersetzt hat, ist Ruhe. Nach zehn Jahren ist jetzt bei der meistbenutzten die Feder gebrochen. Reparatursätze erst später kaufen, braucht man erst nach langer Zeit und das Gummi wird durch die Lagerung nicht besser.

These replacement parts only last an average of 18 months before they break down again. They're definitely too expensive for that, and the installation is rather annoying. It's a shame, really, because the pump is otherwise really great.

Die Pumpe funktioniert seit drei Jahren im täglicen Gebrauch gut, mit einer Einschränkung: die Achse, an welcher der Hebel für die Fuss-Bedienung gelagert ist, verschiebt sich regelmässig und muss dann wieder zurückgesetzt werden.
