Tiptop Arbeitsergebnisse.

Hält wirklich, was er verspricht. Sehr solide verarbeitet.

The blades are very hard...
...that means they're also brittle.

Rounding the edges of the blades to avoid scratching the gelcoat only worked with the grinding stone I normally use to sharpen my drill bits. The Dremel with a carbide burr failed miserably.

The problem with the hardness or brittleness became even more apparent later when scraping. I gradually got more and more "gaps" in the scraping result. Eventually, it got to the point where I had to rotate the blade because the result looked like I'd used a comb. At some point, I realized that you have to place the blade gently on the gelcoat; then it lasts longer. As soon as you apply too much pressure, pieces break off, and you get the corresponding comb-like pattern.

The scraper itself isn't exactly cheap, but it's the best tool I've used so far.

I removed the first few layers because of... I scraped the hull curvature lengthwise down to the first antifouling and primer layer applied by the shipyard using a vacuum. I removed the rest with antifouling paint stripper and a scraper. Since the antifouling hardens again with the stripper, I had to clean the scraper frequently. However, since it was easy to disassemble, this wasn't a problem. Finally, I cleaned the remaining primer on the hull with 180-grit sandpaper, and that was it. The scraper and blades are great; you just need to know, or learn, how to use them.

Best method blade for first coats and then sand down
I am new to sailing ship building and after testing all methods I decided on a rough treatment with the blade and a final sanding. The blade with suction is by far the most environmentally friendly for health. 90% is sucked out - the residue is rather long strands, so it is not nearly as bad for the respiratory tract as small particles.
Here's the big BUT
Here you work with great force on a round boat wall with a square blade. The corners will often cause deep damage to the gelcoat - this is inevitable and virtually unavoidable, so be sure to sand the corners off to make them round. For a rough treatment of a Leisure 22, 2 blades were enough.

Practical thing
You can work well with the blade in the scraper. The price seems a bit high to me.

relatively expensive
Stability could be better, even at the price

replacement blade set Scraper
Basically good, gets a bit expensive when you pull off a whole boat. Slightly rounded corners would be nice, then the boat would forgive small wobbles with the scraper.

If you only consider the material value, the Ladyshave is grossly overstrained. In the application, but he shows his strengths Connect vacuum cleaner hose (I had my extended with a second hose from the bulky waste with tape) and off you go, all the antifouling dust disappears in the vacuum cleaner, the force required when scratching is moderate. The only problem with scratching If you remove the antifouling complete with all primer layers down to the gelcoat, leaving the corners of the sharp scraper almost inevitably fine grooves in the gelcoat. The last layer should therefore be sanded better, or decide is no matter anyway, is over-primed anyway.
