Works as desired, is installed super quickly and, contrary to the above assessment, the part also translates the NMEA0183 data from a Nasa Wireless Wind into the network and thus to the Raymarine EV. You just have to know which of the two necessary strips are connected where. However, this is in the instructions, which you can download. Is really easy.
I bought this device to recover an NMEA 0183 signal coming from my multiplexer to connect it to an NMEA2000 Seatalk NG network. Then plugged into a Seatalk1Seatalk NG conversion strip I was able to retrieve all my network information in 4800 Bds and 38400 Bds. I am very satisfied to find all my information at the helm station on my screen.
A really good product and, what is rare these days, great technical support. If you also have an NGT from Actisense, you can configure the gateway individually and set what is forwarded in which direction.
Best choice to connect old NMEA 0183 gear with new NMEA2000 protocol device
I think Actisense converters are the best choice to preserve our old NMEA 0183 marine equipment within new NMEA 2000 networks. My RADAR, VHF and AIS receiver work yet fine and I hope they will live for years together new 2000 protocol. Actisense give us an easy and secure solution as easy as plug and play. I have got both actisense adapters NGW-1 NMEA0183 - NMEA200 and NGW1-ISO-AIS Converter. They work fine and flawless within a NMEA 2000 network together autopilot and plotter (both Raymarine sea talk NG)
The product does what it should right away. Connected to Actisense NMEA Multiplexer NDC-4 via ISO OUT 0. AIS data is immediately displayed on the B&G plotter. Plug and play. Very satisfied -)
