Yes, these vents are always a good type for us.

Although the material is of lower quality than the one that came with my boat originally, I have to say that the quality-price ratio is very good.

This appears to be a very good product with excellent value for money. Compared to those that I replaced which were almost 30 years old and whose transparent part had completely yellowed, the stainless steel, which is normal today, is of less good quality.

Compared to the previous one that lasted 50 years, the steel is thinner and the gasket is so hard that you risk stripping the screws to compress it enough.

I bought this to replace a damaged vent on a Broom boat, it was a very easy replacement, however, the insect mesh was not included, so I had to improvise by using a piece of ladies' tights! good product., fast service

The product is good but there is a difference between the instruction video and the photos. The white part is upside down in the video compared to the photo. I followed the photo method and the camera does what it is supposed to do. If one follows the method in the video there will be no venting and is not mounted tight as the o-ring closes off the air inlet when it should be on deck to make the whole sealed.

Unfortunately, the screws don't fit exactly into the old ones, but otherwise great.

Unfortunately, the transparent plastic part is not unbreakable.

This Taiwan replica of the ECS fan mounted on many yachts is extremely attractively priced, but you have to accept a few disadvantages
The hole circle of the 4 outer screws in the stainless steel sheet deviates from the original, so you have to drill 4 additional holes in the deck. The supplied screws are consistently too thin for the existing holes and must be procured to match. The dimensions of the ventilation hole and the hole circle of the 6 retaining screws of the plastic parts are exactly the same as the original.
On the other hand, if you only want to replace the plastic parts and keep the cover plate, this is not possible because the size of the light entry opening is not identical.
Of course, you don't have these problems with a complete new installation, but it is noticeable that the designer of this fan copied the original without understanding how to assemble the clear water deflector and the deck flange do not really fit together well. For the form-fitting assembly, it was necessary to place 3 suitable polyamide washers between the deck flange and the water deflector to prevent the forces from causing mechanical damage when screwing. Unfortunately, we will only know when the time is up whether the UV stability of the plastics used is sufficient for this fan to also survive the 38 years that the ECS original survived.

The stainless steel sheet is quite thin compared to Vetus. The assembly sketch is more than poor. You think you can't do much wrong. But if you hold the insect screen in your hand, you get brooding. I didn't get it right. Doesn't look good from above.

A UFO fan from the "ecs" brand was installed on our ship. The plexiglass cover was yellowish and brittle. Since I couldn't find any more fans from ecs, I tried this product and the fan from Talamex as a replacement. This fan is from "AAA" and made a slightly better impression than the product from Talamex. Basically, the products from "AAA" and "Talamex" were identical.

However, the stainless steel cover is extremely thin at 0.49 mm compared to the 1.2 mm of the ecs fan. The holes also don't fit 100%. I therefore combined the white plastic part and the plexiglass cover from the new "AAA" fan with the old stainless steel cover of the "ecs" fan.
The cutout in the ecs cover was a few mm larger.
Conclusion: I was able to repair my old ecs fans with it. For a new installation, I would choose a different, higher quality product.
