Initially, I had some Bluetooth connectivity issues. I was able to resolve these following the SVB instructions. Since then, the anemometer has been working flawlessly and displays the data on my Vulcan7. Setting it up after the aforementioned issues was very easy. The range is good, which allowed me to mount the receiver below deck.

Unfortunately, birds and spiders can easily destroy it.

The original replacement part was very well packaged and arrived within a day. Installation was then easy.

It's just great because you don't have to lay any cables in the mast. The thing has been working for 2 years now without any problems.

Simply installed. If you have the previous model, just install the new Wingener.

I previously had a gWind2 Wireless from Garmin, which kept breaking down. Now I have a cable again and it's from B&G. I couldn't be happier.

The wind sensor was delivered to Norway quickly (approx. 8 days). Just lift the mast, remove the defective wind sensor and click in the new one. It worked straight away. No registration etc.

After the wired predecessor stopped working due to a short circuit (caused by a leaky deck connector), the new wind meter does exactly what it was built for.
The advice from SVB employees when ordering and integrating the part into NMEA 2000 was excellent.

The user manual is inadequate. Pairing instructions were only found after searching online. After connecting the power supply to the Bluetooth receiver, the battery must be connected to the sensor within 10 seconds.

After a lightning strike in Colombia, the Windex stopped working.

Four weeks later, a lightning strike struck the neighboring vessel at anchor in San Blas, Panama.

The old one is working again – repolarization of the data interface?

The new one was then brought on board in Colón and put in the lazarette as a backup.

However, the second nearby lightning strike delivered the NAIS 500 transceiver.

This is a second B&G wind transmitter I have to install in 2 years. Will see how much time the newly installed transmitter will work.

The sensor works well, but only lasted about two years. After it was returned to SVB and checked by the manufacturer, it was replaced without hesitation.

I had the wind transmitter installed in spring 2021. At first it worked perfectly. During the 2021 autumn trip, the display on both Triton displays and on the Zeuss 3 plotter had dropouts. In a phone conversation with SVB I was told to download the update from B&G and install it, then the problem should be solved. No sooner said than done and the display worked for the rest of the trip.
In the Whitsun cruise 2022, the display began to drop out again. This time B&G's update for 2022 didn't help either. During the holiday trip in September 2022, there was no more notification, which is why I had to have the wind transmitter dismantled (in our marina (Italy) you are not allowed to climb the mast yourself. It is forbidden for safety reasons. Work on the mast may only be carried out by authorized personnel . Violations will result in expulsion from the marina.)
I sent the wind sensor to SVB, who said it could be a gesture of goodwill. It was actually exchanged by Navico as a gesture of goodwill. The new wind transmitter now has to wait 6 weeks for installation and I hope that this time it will last longer. Its predecessor Quad 4 also from B&G lasted 18 years until the southern sun broke down the plastic.
