End piece with unacceptable surface imperfections, equal to 2x
Background
I had to reorder this end piece because it wasn't available at the time of installing the new Pfeiffer toe rail, so I only had 3 of the 4 end pieces.
Unfortunately, 2 of the pieces I received were complete garbage (sorry for the harsh criticism). It can happen that a batch "fails." What particularly bothered me, however, was the so-called expert opinion of the manufacturer Pfeiffer, who kindly participated in the discussion as the person responsible. Pfeiffer said these imperfections were unavoidable during the manufacturing process. I'm sorry, but no quality-conscious person would have screwed these new parts onto a freshly renovated deck, I'm sure of that.
Now, I come from a mechanical engineering background myself, and I also happen to be very familiar with aluminum casting. Aside from the fact that the other three end pieces were absolutely perfect, the "Pfeiffer expert opinion" is technical nonsense, claiming they don't have their process under control. Be that as it may, all the end pieces were returned, and in the end, Pfeiffer was able to deliver a decent end piece to SVB. So, it works after all...
The end pieces do their job, are very presentable, and make a solid and high-quality impression.
