I have the window in my RV built into the rear garage door. The window is very valuable, easy to assemble. The point deduction is available for the cheap-looking plastic cover and the missing assembly instructions.

The product is undeniably of very good quality, and the appearance, once (well) installed is perfect. However, the documentation is insufficient. The internal plastic trim must be cut as it is intended for a maximum thickness of several centimeters. In the case, for example, of a wall made of polyester textile lining, it must be reduced by approximately 1.5 cm. This cutting is quite delicate and is not mentioned anywhere in the documentation. The only way to make something clean is to make a shallow pre-cut with a cutter (straight and the right size, especially not to remove too much!) And then fold the plastic away from the line. the plastic then breaks cleanly and neatly. It's much cleaner than trying to saw it or using a shears. But the main problem is the flatness. The documentation simply says that there should be no differences of more than a millimeter. It doesn't mean anything specific. What about a slightly curved surface? What is the maximum acceptable curvature? "One millimeter" actually gives no indication. What would be useful is to know over which length. A difference of one millimeter over a length of thirty centimeters does not have the same impact at all as over a length of 60 cm. So I asked Lewmar Tech Support, and got kicked out. The answer was basically "follow the directions in the documentation and don't ask questions." Lewmar does not consider its users worthy of an answer when its documentation does not make sense. A difference of no more than a millimeter, okay, but a difference between what and what? After consulting various specialists, it would seem that this is the maximum difference in the width of the window span, that is to say the part in contact with the wall (which is the same for all sizes of windows). It's consistent, but it doesn't say anything about the maximum acceptable difference in length. Conclusion good product, but loathsome Lewmar support. On the other hand, the SVB service is absolutely perfect, as usual
