The Victron SmartShunt is an extremely useful instrument to have on board. The Bluetooth connection makes monitoring easy, eliminating the need for a separate digital screen while allowing easy monitoring through the Victron app on a phone or tablet.
Installation required some electrical configuration study on my Bavaria 36 to properly connect both the household and starter batteries. However, with a single additional16mm² battery cable, the setup was straightforward. Once installed, its incredibly easy to track amp draw from each appliance, giving a clear picture of power consumption.
As expected from Victron, the build quality is excellent, and it delivers reliable and accurate readings. For anyone serious about battery management, the SmartShunt is a must-have. Highly recommended!

Good product

If you are ok with checking your currents (charging or discharging power) on your mobile phone then this is it. You can connect it also to your boat console somehow, but I don't need that and I didn't try. But if you need something with it's own gauge display, then there is another model which you can build into your instrument console. But this one is much much easier to install - no drilling, no cabling at all.

The module matches the description perfectly; now all I have to do is install it.

It would be nice if it was also available for SVB - it's actually a good option for the marine sector. The additional costs are manageable, at least elsewhere.

the Bluetooth signal is extremely weak compared to all other Victron devices. I would have been better off buying the wired shunt with Bluetooth monitor.
Unfortunately, you only find out afterwards.
Technically, the product is perfect for my application, as always with Victron

The shunt does its job 80-90% of the time, but there are problems with the SOC display. No solution at SVB, but they put me in touch with a technical contact. They told me that the settings in the manual were all wrong and gave me different ones. The problem is still unsolved. But I think this shunt is better than no shunt. Maybe you should try SIMARINE instead.
