Installation was very simple. The Raymarine Element plotter's connections were retained, and other devices, such as the radar via Wi-Fi and the autopilot, were immediately functional.

The display and usability are excellent, no comparison to my previous plotter (Simrad NSS - 10 years old).
The Axiom offers numerous configuration options. However, some settings can only be found the second way; an internet search is more helpful here than the online manual.
The only drawback is the labeling font size in the maps should be zoomable, the depth information etc. is sometimes difficult to see.

The device itself leaves nothing to be desired. You can't get more than that! If it is intended for permanent installation, everything is fine, but if it is used as a surface-mounted device with a bracket and the RV-100 encoder is connected, the inclination of the screen can only be adjusted minimally because the encoder connection is very large. and the setting is limited.

Delivered a little later than usual, neatly packaged, but after my bitter experience with the SVB service over the last few months, expensive purchases have become too unsafe for me. Since a more detailed testing of the device will probably only be possible in spring 2021, I might then be the "sticky guy" again. The old SH plotter can still manage the autumn trip. For the new acquisition for Easter 2021, after 26 years I am looking for a new (more serious) supplier

Unreliable when the screen gets wet with either salt water or fresh water like rain. For a device that must be used outdoors, I find this a major limitation.

The device can by no means be operated intuitively as it is presented in the advertisement. In the manual, things like basic knowledge about electrical devices are described in great detail, but hardly anything useful about creating or changing the routes. If you need cables or plugs, Ramaine will get you there again. THE screen gets very hot, indicating high power consumption.

Moin, here are my previous experiences with the Axiom 9 (I had previously had a Vulcan 7 without radar and converted to the Axiom because of the radar) -As above, also asked as a "question" The internal GPS receiver is not very useful. The Axiom sits in the same place as a B&G Vulcan before, which never had any problems. The axiom, however, shows 0 reception. I now have an external NMEA2000 antenna on it. -The touch is horrible. The edge area often does not react (close, radar resolution, back buttons) and you actually have to click several times. With water it becomes inoperable and also has false alarms. Apparently something for lower deck ... -The system is sometimes unstable. I already had several crashes (nothing reacts anymore and only helps to switch off hard), mainly when switching from radar to map. -Apps are nice but also sometimes unstable. Only Raymarine certified apps can be installed, which is very sparse. Anydesk, on the other hand, is a nice extension (remote access) because the Raymarine app doesn't necessarily run well either. -I bought the W-Lan Radom out of "laziness". Cable would have been smarter because I often have connection problems. (Distance about 5m) When it is connected, it runs stable. - Tried to update. Was not possible online because the download kept aborting. With an SD card we went. - Something positive The plotter looks good ... ;-) My personal conclusion after a few months Better to spend a little more and buy a B&G ... I was more satisfied with it. Ps is my personal impression. Vlt. something will change with future updates. I have the current January update on it ..
