The new Standard Horizon GX2400E GPS replaces our previous M-TECH DSC and is definitely in a much higher category. Built-in GPS and AIS reception, as well as AIS warnings (collision, etc.), and additional features such as a horn, foghorn, and Bluetooth make the radio suitable for professional use. It can be integrated into the overall on-board electronics system, but also works perfectly as a standalone device in an emergency. It's just a shame that the microphone can't be unplugged, which could be problematic in the event of a cable damage. The small AIS display is obviously less useful; however, it can be mirrored on the plotter. Overall, a highly recommended device.

I use the radio on the Weser, North Sea and for locking.
A radio is indispensable, especially on the North Sea, and this one offers everything you need in my opinion.
It is a recommendation from the SVB staff and I have to say I am convinced.
Easy to install and use. Together with the network and the chart plotter, it provides great information on AIS.

Original German instructions can be downloaded from the manufacturer. Also the instructions for making country-specific channel settings. What is not yet available for purchase here is the wireless handheld microphone. Otherwise very good radio.

Good advice from SVB, information in advance on the homepage and then final information over the phone. The device works flawlessly and although the range of functions is significantly larger than the previously installed one, it can be operated well and safely with the clear menu navigation. Thanks for the German translation of the operating instructions.

The device has really extensive functions. The exterior finish is also very good. The firmware is clearly worse. Unfortunately, the device simply froze in standby (listening) and that several times. (In 3 weeks it was used 4 times). The display still shows the normal functions but no longer receives anything, even the switch-off button on the device does not work! The SH GX2400E GPS can only be used normally again by disconnecting the power and switching it on again.
