As a drive for SEATEC Aerotend 310 - unbeatable
I use the Spirit to power the aforementioned inflatable boat. The system—boat and motor—fits comfortably in a small car, is easy to assemble and disassemble, clean, and has sufficient battery capacity. The thrust is sufficient, but could be better. (More powerful models have become affordable these days.) I plan to purchase an additional (generic 48V LiFEPO4) battery to increase the range and to be able to charge it with a portable PV panel. Overall, after two years of use, I'm very satisfied with the motor.

Fantastic switch from a gas outboard
You wont believe how much of a leap forward this motor is, compared to a gas outboard. However, keep in mind that it can only replace a 3-4 hp gas engine. It cannot compete with anything more powerful.

- it is easy to handle it is not that light, but the weight comes in two light parts motor and battery. Consequently, I got rid of the crane I was using to put the gas engine on the dinghy.
- it is easy to start no more pulling cord and praying it will start
- no more gas canister(s) on the boat
- silent

Just great
I have a dinghy with 2.60 m. When the sea is calm you drive with 80-100 watts and have a power reserve of approx. 7 hours. at half load you still drive 3 hours.
Charge the battery with the on-board network.
Installation on dinghy very easy, low weight.
No problems with carburetor, Impella etc.

Failure to work on first try
After receiving the product, I put the battery to charge. When it got to 95% the charger started flashing red meaning an error.
Since then I cannot charge the battery.
I wrote the manufacturer and got no response.
I am waiting for a response from SVB.

eProp not for long-distance travel
I bought the eProp with a second battery. I only used one battery at first and stored the second in the condition it was sent to me.
After about a year the battery failed with the error code "E51". Returning it from the Canary Islands was extremely difficult (and expensive).
ePropulsion then determined that a cell was defective and replaced it. That took so long that I was now "across the Atlantic".
SVB can only return the repaired battery to European countries. Not the Caribbean or the USA.
The second battery then worked for about nine months. Then it also failed with the error code "E51". Then - with the help of SVB - I found an ePorp representative in the USA who repaired the battery. (This time the BMS!!)
Shipping within the USA is not a (big) problem.
Conclusion For that money I could have bought 3 2-stroke 3.3 HP outboard motors (I now have one - because I can't get by without an outboard motor...)
Total - €4,000 - and only the 2-stroke is reliable!
