This fan is identical to the one I had with my Beneteau First. So, I unscrewed the old unit and put in the new one. All the connections and holes fit.
Perfect!
And the thing is finally quiet again!

Bought to replace an existing fan that had become noisy over time. I expected this new fan to be much quieter, but couldn't just how quiet, almost silent! Very good product.

Engine room blower

About longevity, of course, I can say so shortly after the purchase nothing. Since this review includes 4 different article numbers, I first have to say that I bought Art. 32598, the 5 cbm / min 24V fan. But as I only now festgestallt in the replacement of the old, my ship was originally installed by the shipyard, the smaller 3 cbm Plastimo, this can also be seen on the picture. That would be article 10260 and I would definitely recommend it because it has lasted over 3000 hours with me. If I had known that before, I would probably have resorted to the smaller one again. Since I have seen the smaller of Plastimo synonymous with other providers, and there was listed as not endurance suitable, I decided then but for the larger. The differences: 10260 is from Plastimo, on the nameplate is 24V 2A. The hose connection is not 75mm but 70mm. Power according to SVB 3cbm / min, according to Plastimo 4cbm / min. 32598 is from Vetus (comes from Canada) has according to the enclosed data sheet 24V 4A and 4800 l / min performance, the hose connection is not 75mm but 76mm (3 ") .Interestingly, the hoses laid with me were 76mm and were on the 70mm with the hose clamps The hoses fit so well on the larger fan, I had to drill new holes for the flange on the bulkhead, the bigger fan runs quieter from the buzzing noise, but now you can clearly hear the sound of the airflow, which was not audible before The design is also more massive than the Plastimo, however, the engine is attached to the outside, the Plastimo is protected in the plastic housing.The radio interference is much more complex in the Vetus , with 2 PI elements made of ferrite inductors and capacitors, compared to only one capacitor in the Plastimo. justify price must everyone judge for themselves. The Plastimo sometimes had start-up difficulties after just over 3000 operating hours. When dissecting it has been shown that the coals were almost completely gone, the coal dust had stuck to the still good camp. I think the price is a great achievement and that's why I would give the 'small' actually 5 stars. The big one has yet to prove itself, but I think the significantly higher air flow will keep the engine compartment cooler and that will benefit some other engines such as the inverter.
