After a good year of disillusionment - overboard with the thing!
This is my 2nd review of the part that I bought in summer 23. It was supposed to be an investment in my Baltic Sea trip, but things turned out differently. Today, one day before I want to set sail on the Schlei, I replaced my plotter with a Raymarine Aixiom at the last minute (on a Sunday!). I was unable to update my nautical charts online. In addition, the exclusivity of the C-Map Discover charts turned out to be a showstopper because the well-stocked specialist retailers do not have these charts in stock. Not even SVB in Kiel. The nice man on the phone there couldn't believe that the Zeus S only uses these charts. That alone is now an exclusion criterion for me. The "conglomerate" of the various websites, especially the connection between C-Map and B&G, are completely opaque to me and the corresponding pages, especially the C-Map Manager, have been inaccessible for weeks. B&G's email hotline sent me a ticket for processing. I didn't hear anything after that.
In the end I decided to take the undoubtedly expensive step of changing the plotter at the last minute.
In my experience, the best thing about the B&G Zeus S, 7 inch is how easy it is to swap it for a Raymarine Axiom.
I wonder what's going on at B&G...
So my clear recommendation is to stay away from this thing.
It's a shame!
