I use this system, plug and socket, on my Mercedes G to connect the roof rack electrics (LED work lights and heater for water tank) to the vehicle. The connection is quick and easy to make and is waterproof. At the moment I have removed the roof rack and only installed one work light. I bought the plug for this and am now more flexible in its use. In my opinion, this system is also ideal for use outside of the boat area.
