Easy to process
The seal fits well and is easy to work with. I spot-bond the seal with Sika 295UV.

Seal for Lewmar Portlight porthole
The seal I bought is a 100% match for the original. Since it's the same thickness as a new seal, I applied a little silicone spray to make it slide more easily when closing. I left them closed for four days, and after that, my wife was able to open and close them as well. Before that, it was too difficult for her. I thoroughly cleaned the groove before installing it, which is why they fit so well.

Received today and still needs to be assembled
I bought this seal by the meter to replace my LEWMAR side porthole seals.
The seal's profile isn't exactly the same as the original one, which dates back to 2003. That one was a simple lip that made contact between the plexiglass and the frame when closed. This one looks more like a thicker bead that compresses when closed. The previous seal hardened with age and eventually lost its watertight seal. With this replacement model, that shouldn't be a problem. Now I just have to install it. The instructions are clear, and the reviews I've read show that with patience and a bit of skill, it's doable. Now I just have to get the job done.

Fits perfectly
It fits well, and the instructions are clear. You need to thoroughly clean the silicone from the gate frame before installing the new seal, especially on the curves.

Almost like the original
I'm satisfied; it's not too difficult to install. It's a bit difficult the first few times. But after a week, it's back to normal...

Lewmar window rubber, porthole
It is not exactly the same size but matches almost perfectly. Fits well in the profile. Slightly too short on the outside for a drainage outlet.

Price performance is right
It's extremely difficult to close the hatches after installation because the seal has to give a little bit first, but otherwise it's fine.

The rubber is to thick and won't allow the window to close.
The rubber seal is to fatthick to allow the window to close and binds with the hinges too. Since it comes in bulk I was able to cut a couple of trial pieces and really play with it and see how well it would dry fit. Using just a small piece I could close the window but the larger the piece I used the hard it was to close until it was cut to size and the window would not close at all.

Reply from LEWMAR
It may happen that the portlight doesn't close properly with a new seal.
In this case, install a spacer under the portlight closure holder.
The new rubber seal will be hard and not yet in the correct shape. After a short time and
several openings and closings, the seal will return to its normal shape, and you can remove the spacer.
