I exchanged all ball valves and hull fittings for Trudesign ones. The whole series makes a very solid impression. I only used the available support collars where you could step on them in the worst case. Even without these collars, even the relatively small 34-inch variant only allows a certain amount of elastic movement when handled violently.
Before installation, check whether there is enough space, as the taps are more voluminous than those made of metal. For installation, we recommend, among other things, Sikaflex 291i for bonding the seal. Therefore install in winter storage at mild temperatures.

After research, we decided on this product to change all 12 seacocks on our Bavaria 47 Ocean and to install 2 new ones. We are very impressed with the quality and robustness. We took into account the different external dimensions of the valve compared to the brass valves previously used. So it was also necessary to close old hull culverts and drill new ones.

No metal, no corrosion

For 25 years of sailing salt water I have used 5 synthetic seacocks. In the last 5 years 2 have been corroded and broken because of a small rvs pin being corroded at last. These synthetic truedesign fitting are without any metal - as far as I can see. Installing is easy.
