The built-in cables can be operated by hand. With only the shift cable connected, the shifting is precise, the detents are a bit stiff – well, it's still new. With only the throttle cable connected, it works perfectly. The throttle cable is connected to the shift cable – after shifting, when the engine speed is increased, the operating lever is stiff in the gate. The Bowden cables are installed straight, NOT twisted. The gate is clean and greased with temperature-resistant grease. Since the engine's shift linkage is exposed to full sunlight, the idle speed adjustment works easily when the shift lever is pulled into the starting position. The original grease applied to the gate has run off due to the heat of the sun. I think the gate, which also functions as a lever brake, has seized up a bit – I'll probably have to completely disassemble it again. After re-greasing with the temperature-resistant grease, it's improved.
