Picking up goods in Bremen - better not.
I received a notification that I should leave a review for my purchase – if that's actually requested, I'll do so.
I picked up my package on my way to the boat's winter storage in Bremen. Shortly after 9 a.m. on a weekday, I arrived at the rather large SVB parking lot in Bremen after a three-hour drive. Of the estimated 50 parking spaces, not a single one was free at that early hour. So I had to drive back out and look for a parking spot further away. When I got to the store, there were fewer than five customers inside. As a customer, I have to wonder who's occupying all those parking spaces out in the yard? The employees? Or people who don't own the lot? SVB really needs to set up a proper customer parking area here.
Now the story continues: At the checkout, I received a collection slip for my package and then went to the shipping counter. There I met a very friendly gentleman who brought me my ordered goods (10 items, from 2.5 kg of AF to a packet of cotter pins). Anyway, the employee came back a short time later with my order, placed these 10 items on the counter, and said, "Here you are." I was quite taken aback and asked the man how I was supposed to transport these items to my car. As you may recall, the car wasn't parked in the yard due to overcrowding, but about 50 meters away from SVB. The employee then handed me a really small paper bag. I was supposed to put the 10 items in it and carry them to the car. I couldn't resist handing the little bag back to the man, saying, "You'd be better off giving this to your grandchild; he'll certainly be happier than I am." It then took quite a while until I had all the items safely in the car. The result for me: I will never shop at SVB again. Dear SVB Management, your process for handing over goods to customers is flawless. Not at all. From the lack of customer parking for cars to the fact that for purchases over €200, no transport option is provided at the checkout. A travesty, made in Germany.
