Disbelief instead of service – that's how you alienate long-standing customers
I have been a customer of this supplier for many years and never imagined I would have to write such a negative review. What we experienced here is all the more disappointing.
We ordered a dinghy with delivery to Sicily and paid the amount immediately. After a phone inquiry, we received an order confirmation stating shipping costs of €90.00. Then, for two whole weeks, nothing happened. No information, no status update.
Upon our subsequent inquiry, we were informed that the dinghy was still in the warehouse because they had miscalculated the shipping costs. Instead of the confirmed €90.00, the shipping costs were now suddenly supposed to be almost €1,100.00. They offered to cover half as a gesture of goodwill. With a merchandise value of €1,900, this is simply unacceptable.
We insisted on the fulfillment of the concluded contract and reserved the right to take legal action. The response was beyond brazen. They were happy to take legal action, but would then block us as customers. And that wasn't all. We now have the added hassle of returning a dinghy cover that's completely unnecessary. An apology? Not a chance. Any attempt at compensation? None whatsoever. Instead, they're threatening us with consequences.
After all these years as a loyal customer, this behavior is not only disappointing, but simply unacceptable. This is no way to treat customers.
One star is too generous, but unfortunately, I can't select less.
