Order of €902 damaged in transit, slow after-sales service
Order 3865237, Isotherm Compact Classic 2017 (ref. 44513, SN 25228982). Received on March 24th with obvious damage from a bump during transport: a broken compressor fan blade and a cracked fan duct at the edge. The outer box, marked "Fragile, Handle with care," had visible punctures and impacts on the inner walls, and the internal protection was insufficient for a unit of this weight and fragility. Furthermore, the wooden accessory for bending the evaporator (ref. manual Fig. 7) was missing, although the bending tool (SGH00008AA) was included.
I have never had problems with SVB and they have always been my go-to supplier, but on this occasion, the after-sales service has been disappointing. Customer service informed me that they will most likely collect the damaged unit first and then send a new one, instead of doing both at the same time. This would mean a double journey from Spain to Germany and a considerable delay. For damage clearly caused in transit and an order exceeding €900, the reasonable approach would be to collect the damaged unit and deliver the replacement in the same transaction. SVB has an excellent product catalog, but its after-sales service for shipping incidents needs improvement, both in terms of response time and replacement management. I hope this is resolved as soon as possible.
