Equipment for classic boats.
For my 18-foot canoe (mahogany on steam-bent ash frames), which I'm retrofitting with an electric motor, I had to design a rudder system based on a historical model. I opted for a yoke on the rudder shaft, but instead of ropes like on rowing boats, it's moved by an attached pushrod. This pushrod requires a bearing on the gunwale so it can be mounted on either side. That's why I chose these beautiful, foldable oarlocks made of polished brass. They look fantastic.
