Replacement for old one & works perfectly
The spindle on the old one broke after 6 years, probably due to poor cleaning in the fall or perhaps the barnacles blocked it (previous owner or shipyard).
So, when winterizing, always remove the ZipWake cover and clean it thoroughly, then replace the cover and tighten the screws with a torque wrench!
Replacing it is relatively easy; just be careful that the sliding carriage doesn't jam when screwing the cover on. If the cable gland wasn't glued in, it would be a breeze, but unfortunately, that was the case for me. So, I had to cut the cable with the connector (shorten it by about 50cm) to feed the cable through the glued-in gland. Inside the engine compartment, I then reconnected the data cable using WAGO COMPACT 2-way connectors (5 pieces). Everything works perfectly.
P.S. Test the ZipWake several times before launching!
