If you just want to wear the vest as a decorative piece on the boat, it's great. But its actual purpose, once the ignition mechanism is triggered, is completely lost. We tested the vests as part of a sea rescue training course. The vests take a very, very long time for the entire collar to fill with air, and then the buoyancy aid isn't even fully inflated. The buoyancy is very strong, which is what you'd expect from a 290 N rating, but it doesn't adequately hold your head up, and you have to constantly squeeze the buoyancy aid in front of your chest and hold on to it to prevent your head from slipping through. Unfortunately, the back and crotch straps are very poorly connected to the buoyancy aid. If you want to rely on your vest in an emergency, you shouldn't buy this. A waste of money.
